CiC counsellors are available to talk through any problem, no matter how big or small, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
From work stressors to relationship breakdowns to money worries, clients contact us with a vast range of issues. While some will go on to access secondary support, many of our callers feel that a one-off call provides them with enough support to tackle the problem at hand.
The value of talking though a problem with an impartial trained professional cannot be over-estimated. A one-off call often helps callers contain their anxiety and gain a new perspective on their situation which turns out to be just what they needed to move on.
Having said that, there is no limit to the number of times a caller can phone. When people do call several times, our teamwill always consider whether a planned and structured treatment would be a more effective option.
Telephone counselling sessions
There are times when clients want to access further counselling, but wish to do so over the telephone without having to attend face-to-face sessions. Clients may be travelling and unable to commit to regular sessions, they may have young families and no childcare arrangements, or they may be suffering from psychological or physical problems that make it difficult to travel to the counsellors’ consulting rooms.
Telephone counselling is a specialism and CiC’s clinical team will only refer clients requesting telephone sessions to practitioners who are trained and experienced in working over the phone.
Just like face-to-face therapists, telephone counsellors will never offer you advice or tell you what they think you should do. They are there to listen in a non-judgmental, accepting way to whatever it is that is troubling you.
